Understanding Your Spiritual Season
Spirituality is about the journey to heaven while living on the earth. It’s the journey for seeking God, praying, worshipping, serving, walking in the spirit, and so forth, that allows us to grow as a spiritual person, until we get to heaven. Once there, we live in eternity and receive rewards for our labors on the earth.
Growing spiritually is really no different than growing physically. You start out learning to walk and talk. Prayers are difficult and faith is difficult at first. But just like a baby, you are so happy. You also have a measure of grace in the beginning of your walk that protects and helps you.
Throughout your lifetime, God will take you through various seasons designed to help you grow. God may call you into a season of prayer. Yes, prayer is a necessary part of our daily walk with God, but prayer seasons are much more intense and it will draw and pull on you to pray with a sense of urgency. In other seasons, you maybe drawn to an intense season of reading the Bible. Just like prayer, we need it everyday, but this season is different. During this time you stay hungry for God’s word and just like Psalm 119 says, you meditate on it day and night. You will even go through a night season. That’s’ when God turns out the lights and calls you to seek and find Him in order to deepen your relationship with Him. Other seasons are for deeper worship experiences, or missionary experiences, discipleship or soul winning and evangelism.
Each season is a training ground as well as a spiritual feeding ground. Every season will help you grow into the well-balanced spiritual person God wants you to become. Remember that seasons change, so just because you are not in a past season that you cherished, it doesn’t mean something is wrong. Your next season will give you something new. And also just like seasons, your favorite season will return again.
