I am looking forward to summer and it’s almost here. The changing of seasons can be bitter-sweet because we are trying to hold on to something we love. There are times we are ready to leave one season and enter a new one. Regardless, moving forward is healthy. The alternative is to get stuck. If were stuck the scenery never changes and life get’s hopeless. Movement allows us to dream, imagine, anticipate and fill our heart with new hope.
New seasons bring new life, new views, new creativity and…well just new everything. There will be days that I will miss a previous season and will look at some old pictures and say, wasn’t that great, but for the most part, I think it’s best to live you life forward. When you drive a car, you have a huge windshield to help you move forward and a tiny rear view mirror to help you go backwards. That’s a great picture of life; live your life through the windshield but keep glancing back to see how far you’ve come. Looking forward gives you hope and excitement. It tells you that you are growing. The past seasons, even the painful ones have advanced you into a better person because you outgrew them.
Keep going and always believe the best is yet to come.
Philippians 3:13-14
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
