Complacency is one of the most dangerous enemies of the believer because it is so easy to fall into. God is so good and faithful to us in His mercy but it is easy to take His faithfulness for granted in the good times and confuse presumption for faith.
I believe that we have to come into agreement with God’s plan and destiny for our lives with the words we speak out of our mouth. Don’t assume that something God has spoken to you or over you will “just happen” – Presumption is assuming something will happen without any effort. God does bless us in this way at times but God is asking us to stretch our faith and believe him for the impossible. When was the last time you reminded God of the promises spoken over your life, your family, your ministry, your church and your city? Don’t just assume, BELIEVE, declare those promises, pray over them, dream and imagine those things happening in your church, in your city, in your family.
Prayer is so important; the bible tells us that Jesus is constantly making intercession for us. It’s his role till he returns to take us HOME. He’s not just assuming we will make the right decisions and follow his will. He’s praying and interceding for us daily.
