This may be a hard pill to swallow, but take a few minutes today and think about this question: How well do you take care of yourself emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally? Leadership starts from the head (you) and works its way down. If you are frustrated (and of course it happens), it may affect your entire working environment. The staff around you may be working hard, but you can only see what needs to be done, instead of seeing the big picture. That’s a sure sign of a frustrated leader. Most of us don’t want to admit when we get there, but we all know it happens. Sometimes if you find the work environment seems too uptight and difficult to be in, maybe you are part of the problem. If leadership flows from the head down, we can also asses that all of your productivity flows from your head. If you see the glass half empty, it will eventually become half empty, just like you. Take a good look and evaluate yourself this week. Maybe you are having a hard time, and consider for a moment, that it may not be because things are that difficult. It may just be the way you view things from tired and frustrated eyes. It may be as simple as one thing; you just need a break! Maybe you just need to spend some time playing with your kids, taking your wife on a date, or getting away for a few days of vacation. God specifically told us not to “grow weary in well doing.” He said in this same passage (Galatians 6:6-9), we reap whatever we sow.
