One day I was craving ice cream and we didn’t have any in the frig. I got this bright idea that I would drink a spoon full of vanilla flavoring to quench my craving. Yuck! Have you ever drank vanilla extract by itself? It taste bitter. I had no idea that something, which makes ice cream taste perfect, was so awful by itself. If you made homemade ice cream without vanilla extract, it would be tasteless.
There are so many moments in your life that will be bitter if that’s all that you got. But in God’s plan and providence, He takes that moment and mixes it with other life ingredients to produce an amazing recipe for success. Why do we have challenges in our life? Without challenges, we would not need faith. Without challenges, we would not learn courage. Without challenges we would have no need of prayer. Without challenges we would not understand the “beauty for ashes and the garment of praise of the spirit of heaviness.” Our praise would not mean as much, but when we overcome, it’s the victor’s song.
The moment you are in right now may be bitter, but when God is not through with you, He will work all things for your good. Hold on to that promise and keep your eye on the finished product. What you are going through may be a necessary ingredient to complete your victory, or a necessary lesson to bring you into you destiny. Trust God and He will work all things for your good.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
